Featuring Beets: Recently identified as a nutritional powerhouse, beets are high in foliate, manganese, potassium, beta carotene, and calcium. The best time to buy beets is June through October. Beets are easy to roast, and the skins slip right off when cooked. Cut them up and add them to your salad with some goat cheese and chick peas.

Don't forget to use the leafy green part of the beets by sautéing them in garlic and olive oil. Enjoy them as a veggie dish or slip them into directly into your pasta dish! Scroll below for another way to incorporate beets into your diet.

Celebrate "Four Fresh Years" with Joyce and Jackie at the information booth! We will be handing out free carrot cake to the first 150 AVFM shoppers!
