Crime Alert from SLO Falconer / Neighborhood Scam Alert!

Please be advised, there have been multiple instances of a person posing as an AT&T employee, attempting to gain access to people's homes.The suspect has approached the intended victim and said, "Hello Mr. or Mrs. (your name here) and given their correct phone number. The suspect then states that he is employed by AT&T and is conducting a survey on service and response.
Some folks have unwittingly allowed the man access to their home. The man is described as a an African American male, 6'03" and approximately 255 lbs. He wears a button down shirt and a tie. If you find yourself in this situation, DO NOT let this person in. Try to ascertain what kind of vehicle he is traveling in, or other identifying information. Call the police immediately.
I have several incidents reported in the upper Glassell Park area, and a person I know to be reputable from Silverlake came to the station two days ago and reported the same type of incident with the same description of the suspect.
