L.A. City Council President Eric Garcetti / CD13 has spearhead efforts to reduce the lawlessness and set a new standard for conduct by those who frequent the Los Angeles River. An ongoing “River Management & Maintenance Task Force” has been established to bring together various government entities (HBT, L.A. County Flood Control, LAPD, CHP, Gloria Molina’s Office, BSS, Caltrans, LAHSA, CCAC, DWP and the Army Core of Engineers) to discuss solutions and take steps to improve the L.A. River environment.

Current efforts are being focused on the section of the Los Angeles River between Fletcher Drive and Tyburn Street in Atwater Village.

For more information about this effort to improve Atwater’s section of the Los Angeles River please contact Mitch Ofarrell from CD13 at Mitch.Ofarrell@lacity.org
