Atwater Village Neighborhood Council Election!

The ATWATER VILLAGE NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL will hold its Third Election on August 12, 2006 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Holy Trinity School Pavilion (3716 Boyce Avenue)


There are 14 open seats on the Board:


2 residents of North Atwater Village
2 residents of Central Atwater Village
2 residents of South Atwater Village
2 community groups/non-profit representatives
2 business representatives
2 church/religion representatives
1 school representative
1 parks and recreation representative


Candidate application forms are available starting May 27th online @ www.atwatervillage.org.  or at:


•Atwater Village Farmers Market (Sundays from 10am -2pm in the Wells Fargo Bank Parking lot on Glendale Blvd at Larga)
•Chevy Chase Recreation Center (4165 Chevy Chase Drive)
•Atwater Village Branch Library (3379 Glendale Blvd.)
•Cristo Rey Church (4343 Perlita Avenue)
•Luis Lopez Automotive (2751 Fletcher Drive)


All applications must be filed by July 13, 2006.

Atwater Village Neighborhood Council (AVNC) is an officially recognized advisory council hereby part of the Los Angeles Citywide system of neighborhood councils.


The PURPOSE of the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council is to participate as an advisory body on issues of concern to our neighborhood council and in the governance of the City of Los Angeles.


To be eligible to become a candidate, you must be a stakeholder.  * A "STAKEHOLDER" shall mean any individual who lives, works or owns property in this neighborhood council AREA.  In addition, stakeholders shall include the following in this neighborhood council AREA:
Homeowners, renters, property owners, business owners, employees of businesses, cultural institutions and their members, religious institutions and their members, service or community nonprofit organizations and their members, schools and their students, parks and recreation. With the exception of service or community nonprofit organizations, all stakeholder groups must have a physical location or operate within the AVNC boundaries or shared areas as described in these bylaws.  Service or community nonprofit organizations must either operate within the neighborhood council or include Atwater Village in its service area.  Stakeholders shall have all rights and privileges, including the rights to vote and the right to hold office, with the exception that only youth age 16 or older have the right to hold office.
